I was born in a small city in the eastern part of Nigeria. In 1992, I came to the United States on a full soccer scholarship and attended Alabama A&M University. In 1997, I was drafted by a major league soccer team and played for the Kansas City Wizards in Missouri. I also played for the Jacksonville Cyclones in Jacksonville, Florida. I was hired by the Bessemer City Schools in 1999 to teach health and physical education. I enjoy teaching, being a dad to my three children (two sons - Kosi and Jay, and one daughter - Nneka), as well as being a loving husband to my beautiful wife Chioma.
